About Birthdaycake
Birthdaycake is an interactive online experience for celebrating the people you care about. Instead of a flat e-card, you create a real, three-dimensional birthday cake, decorate it, and invite friends and family to gather around it — adding their own candles and heartfelt messages, no matter where they are in the world.
Why we built it
We all have someone we wish we could celebrate with in person but can't. Distance, time zones, busy lives, or simply not being able to be in the same room shouldn't mean a birthday goes unmarked. Birthdaycake was created to close that gap: a shared, joyful space where a group of people can come together to make one person feel remembered and loved on their special day.
How it works
Getting started takes just a moment, and there is nothing to install:
- Design a cake — choose its shape, colors, frosting, and decorations to match the personality of whoever you are celebrating.
- Personalize it — add a cake topper, ornaments, and a message written just for them.
- Place your candle — light the first candle and make a wish.
- Invite others — share a link so friends and family can add their own candles and messages to the same cake.
- Share the finished cake — when the celebration is ready, send it to the birthday person so they can blow out every candle and read every wish.
What makes it different
Birthdaycake is built as a real-time 3D experience that runs right in your browser. The cake is something you can rotate, decorate, and explore — and because every candle and message comes from a different friend, the finished cake becomes a small, collective keepsake of a moment in time. It works on desktop and mobile, and supports an augmented reality view so you can place the cake in your own space.
